Research Project
Hired as a research assitant under Dr. Tairan Liu. In PACK Lab, I design a lightweight, end-to-end robotics ecosystem inspired by PX4/Pixhawk to simplify deployment of ground, marine, and articulated robots. Developing a configuration-over-coding workflow where users define robot topology, sensors, and kinematics through a desktop GUI that automatically generates, compiles, and flashes optimized firmware to low-cost microcontrollers (ESP32, Teensy, Arduino, STM32). Architecting modular abstraction layers to unify sensor integration, actuator control, communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART), real-time telemetry, PID tuning, and calibration. The project targets elimination of the “integration wall” in robotics and will culminate in a public GitHub repository and a publishable research paper.
